Las Cruces Golf Courses

We’ve discussed a variety of things to do while you’re here visiting us in Las Cruces. This time we thought we’d talk about Las Cruces golf courses near the Hacienda RV Resort. There are four great options for you, and we’ll give you the skinny on each so you can get your share of greens!

New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces

This golf course was designed by Floyd Farley in 1963. It is an 18-hole course with the Organ Mountains to the east and the Mesilla Valley to the west. The course has a variety of challenge levels and is 7,000 yards. There’s a mix of traditional and desert golfing.

Picacho Hills Country Club

This is the only private golf course on the list, but does offer reciprocal agreements with other private clubs, so you may be considered a member for purposes of golfing if you’re affiliated with one of the accepted clubs. This course is just shy of 7,000 yards and is desert style. Here you’ll find bluegrass fairways and bent-grass tees and greens.

Red Hawk Golf Course

This is an 18-hole Ken Dye course and is the most recent to open. It is 7,523 yards and is a links-style course. Spacious, yet challenging, it features rolling and generous greens. It was recently chosen as the second-best course you can play in New Mexico by Golfweek!

Sonoma Ranch Golf Course

Sonoma Ranch Golf Course is in the Sonoma Ranch housing community. It was designed by Cal Olson and features rolling hills, bunkers, and bent grass greens. It has five tee boxes to challenge all levels of golfers.
